Prize Possessions
At YR Media, we take immense pride in our content creating alumni who move on to produce impactful stories that change the way we think about the world. To that end, we congratulate not one, but two YR star alums who have earned their place among the list of esteemed Pulitzer Prize winners and finalists.
Lauren Silverman, head of current programming for Gimlet Media, was part of a team that earned a Pulitzer Prize in audio reporting for her contributions to the “Stolen Surviving St. Michael’s” project. Developed by investigative journalist Connie Walker, the series delves into her father’s history and the untold stories of Indigenous children who were taken from their families and sent to live in a school in Canada.
Sabby Robinson, an assistant audio producer for the Washington Post, was also recognized in the audio reporting category for her work on the “Broken Doors” a reporting project that examines the impact of no-knock warrants. Sabby also recently worked with YR Media on a collaboration with her employers, The Washington Post, which earned a Gracie award. Full circle moment!
We are excited for Lauren and Sabby’s achievements and much-deserved recognition. Please join us in celebrating their continued success in shaping the future of journalism.
