Meet Neha Tiwari, YR Media Board Co-Vice Chair

Meet Neha Tiwari: Empowering Strategic Growth for Nonprofits and Businesses

Meet our Co-Vice Chair Neha Tiwari, founder of Version Consulting and new media veteran. Tiwari has a passion for empowering businesses and nonprofits run by women, BIPOC, and/or underrepresented founders run in a more efficient and effective way.

Drawing from her extensive experience of over 15 years in the technology and video games media industries, Tiwari has established herself as a creative executive who has worked with some of the biggest names in digital. She has led global creative teams at renowned media companies such as IGN Entertainment, CBS Interactive, and Fandom. She also worked at YouTube Gaming in its first year, managing the top creators on the platform. Tiwari has won several Telly Awards for digital programs under her leadership.

Tiwari became interested in the power of media at an early age. As a proud daughter of immigrants growing up an hour east of Oakland, Tiwari found ways to bridge cultural divides through creative writing, speech, and her interest in journalism.

English was her second language, and she worked hard at learning it quickly. “I saw language as the key to culture, writing soon became my strongest subject in school and I discovered it was a major outlet,” Tiwari wrote in an online bio.

Her passion for media was further ignited after being exposed to live news crews at local festivals. Although she was intrigued by the lights, cameras and action associated with broadcast news, she discovered her niche for online video journalism both as a student at the University of California Berkeley and as one of the founding members of Cal TV while interning at TechTV in the early 2000s.

In 2019, Tiwari started Version Consulting to apply her skills and talents to support businesses and nonprofits that often need someone to plan their strategy, operations, marketing and business development, but perhaps were not able to access that resource in the past.

Tiwari joined the YR Media Board of Directors in 2021 and joined the Executive Committee, where she has served the past two years. “I admire everything that YR Media has accomplished and their mission to support BIPOC youth in media is very important to me,” Tiwari said of her participation. “ In the last few years especially, we have seen how representation matters in the media. YR Media is bringing that change, and I am honored to support their success.”
